Exciting News for Zyn Users: Production to Increase in the U.S.
Zyn users across the United States are celebrating as Philip Morris International (PMI) announced a major investment in ramping up production of the popular nicotine pouches. The company revealed plans to build a new $600 million production facility in Aurora, Colorado, dedicated to manufacturing Zyn products.
The decision to expand production comes in response to nationwide shortages of Zyn, which have been a result of the product’s overwhelming success in the market. PMI’s investment signals a commitment to meeting the increasing demand for nicotine alternatives that are scientifically proven to be better options for adult smokers looking to move away from traditional cigarettes.
PMI Americas President and U.S. CEO Stacey Kennedy expressed excitement about the new facility, stating, “We believe Colorado is likeminded in its commitment to innovation, economic opportunity, and public health, and we’re eager to work with the state and its talented workforce as we expand our U.S. manufacturing presence.”
The construction of the facility is expected to create 500 direct jobs with an average annual salary of $90,000, as well as an additional 1,000 indirect jobs. PMI estimates that the new facility will have an ongoing annual economic impact of $550 million. In addition, the company plans to create 1,000 construction jobs as the factory is being built.
This announcement comes on the heels of PMI’s plan to increase Zyn production at an existing facility in Kentucky to address the current shortage more immediately. However, as Zyn’s popularity continues to grow, questions about the product’s safety have also emerged. PMI maintains that its products are scientifically supported as better alternatives to traditional cigarettes, but the FDA warns that nicotine is addictive and can lead to continued tobacco use.
Despite these concerns, the news of increased production capacity is sure to be welcomed by Zyn users who have been struggling to find their favorite products. With PMI’s investment in U.S. manufacturing, the future looks bright for Zyn enthusiasts nationwide.
