Willoughby Rotary Donates iPads to Deepwood Foundation for Special Needs Individuals in Lake County
The Deepwood Foundation in Lake County has recently received a generous donation of 24 new iPads from the Willoughby Rotary Club’s WRAP program. These devices are allocated to provide critical communication support for individuals with developmental disabilities in the community.
Executive Director Rikke Coach expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing the impact these iPads will have on empowering individuals to express themselves and engage with the world around them. Program Administrator Tana Habat highlighted the record number of grant requests for iPads this year, showcasing the growing need for these communication tools.
The partnership between the Willoughby Rotary and Deepwood Foundation is breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity for individuals with developmental disabilities. The iPads, along with speech software and protective cases provided by the foundation, are essential tools for speech and communication development in nonverbal individuals.
