Latino voters see Vice President Kamala Harris as strong on border security: Axios Vibes survey
The latest Axios Vibes survey by The Harris Poll reveals that Vice President Kamala Harris is gaining ground among Latino voters when it comes to border security compared to President Biden. Despite attacks from former President Trump, Harris is seen as better or about the same as Biden on this issue by nearly half of all Latinos surveyed.
Interestingly, border security ranks only eighth among the top concerns for Latino voters, with inflation, housing affordability, and jobs and wages taking the top spots. This indicates that Harris’s stance on border security may not be a make-or-break issue for Latino voters.
John Gerzema, CEO of The Harris Poll, notes that Harris is starting with a clean slate among Latino voters and is viewed as just as good or better at providing a vision for the future than Biden. This puts her in a strong position as she navigates her role in the Biden administration.
The survey, based on a nationally representative sample of 3,604 U.S. adults, including 575 Latinos and 459 Latino voters, provides valuable insights into the opinions of this key demographic. As immigration reform continues to be a significant issue, the Harris-Walz administration will be closely watched for their approach to this important issue.
Overall, the survey highlights the evolving perceptions of Vice President Harris among Latino voters and the complex dynamics at play in the realm of border security and immigration reform. Subscribe to Axios Latino for more updates on this and other vital news about Latinos and Latin America.
