Elon Musk Endorses Donald Trump for President Following Assassination Attempt
Elon Musk, the head of Tesla and SpaceX, has officially endorsed Donald Trump for President following an assassination attempt on Trump at a rally over the weekend. Musk made the statement just hours after the incident in Butler, Pennsylvania. This endorsement comes after several statements in which Musk has shown support for Trump over expected incumbent President Joe Biden.
Reports from Bloomberg also revealed that Musk had donated to the America PAC political action committee, a major supporter of Trump. Musk has been vocal in his support for Trump, citing him as a tough candidate similar to Theodore Roosevelt. He has also criticized the Secret Service detail at the rally and expressed alignment with Trump’s platform on issues such as illegal border crossings and fraudulent voters.
Speculation has been circulating that Musk could potentially gain an advisory role in Trump’s cabinet if he is elected, although Musk has stated that there have been no discussions on the matter. Trump himself has shown a newfound appreciation for electric vehicles and Tesla, calling himself a “big fan” of EVs and Elon Musk.
During Tesla’s recent Annual Shareholder Meeting, Musk mentioned his occasional conversations with Trump, noting that the president calls him out of the blue and is very nice when he does. The endorsement has sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning Musk’s alignment with Trump’s policies.
