Tesla Employee Shares Sneak Peek of Ride-Hailing Platform Ahead of Robotaxi Unveiling
As we eagerly await Tesla’s official unveiling of its Robotaxi on August 8, a Tesla employee has given us a sneak peek of the ride-hailing platform that will soon be in operation.
Rosalie Nathans, a senior manager at Tesla, posted a video on LinkedIn showcasing the ride-hailing experience. In the video, she is seen requesting a car on the app, adjusting settings such as temperature, and getting in the vehicle.
The video provides a glimpse of what the autonomous ride-hailing service could look like, with features similar to popular platforms like Uber and Lyft, but with no visible human driver.
Elon Musk has previously hinted at the potential for Tesla owners to earn money by adding their vehicles to the fleet, with estimates of up to $30,000 a year in earnings.
The underlying software powering the Robotaxi service is Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software, which is still in beta testing. The software has faced regulatory scrutiny and lawsuits but offers features such as lane switching, recognizing traffic signs, self-parking, and highway entry without direct driver input.
While details about the Robotaxi’s appearance remain scarce, Musk has expressed a desire for the vehicles to forgo traditional features like mirrors, pedals, and steering wheels.
The anticipation for Tesla’s Robotaxi unveiling continues to grow, with Musk declaring the event will take place on August 8. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking development in autonomous transportation.
