Lakeland Community College Names New Vice President and Treasurer
The Lakeland Community College Board has announced the appointment of David Cummins as the new vice president for administrative services and college treasurer, effective July 1. Cummins brings a wealth of experience in higher education financial planning and administration, having served in various roles at the Ohio Department of Higher Education since 2017.
During his time at the department, Cummins played a key role in policy development and the administration of state financial support for public higher education institutions. His expertise in financial planning and analysis has earned him recognition as a state leader in the field.
Prior to his work at the state level, Cummins held financial leadership positions at both two- and four-year public institutions. His previous roles include serving as vice president for administrative services and treasurer at Lorain County Community College, vice president for finance and administration at the University of Akron, and vice president of business and finance at North Central Technical College in Mansfield.
Cummins expressed his excitement about joining Lakeland Community College, emphasizing his belief in the community college mission and the institution’s importance to the region. He holds bachelor’s degrees from Cleveland State University and a master’s degree from Ohio State University.
