New Ownership at Bayshore Resort Bait and Hideaway: A Look at Kipling’s Fishing Destination

The historic Bayshore Resort Bait and Hideaway in Kipling, Michigan, has undergone a major transformation under new ownership. Chad Meier and Jeff Diebold took over the business in January 2024 and have since revamped the store and cabins on the property. The shop is now managed by Keith and Connor Soderman, who are gearing up for the upcoming walleye season starting on May 15.

The property, which has changed hands multiple times over the years, offers seven rental cabins and two docks for anglers. The Sodermans, who are experienced anglers themselves, are excited for the upcoming fishing seasons and are well-prepared to meet the demands of their customers. They have stocked up on tackle and bait, including a custom color pattern exclusive to Bayshore.

In addition to updating the cabins and docks, the new owners have plans to expand the business by obtaining a food license to sell items like pasties and building a pavilion for guests. The Bayshore Resort Bait and Hideaway is not just a bait shop, but a destination for anglers looking to enjoy the beauty of Little Bay de Noc. Stay tuned for more updates on this local business as it continues to evolve under new ownership.
