CEEE Connects Gooding with Delaware Schools and Hosts Financial Literacy Event
CEEE, the Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship, has been making a positive impact on Delaware schools by connecting them with valuable resources and events. Recently, CEEE reached out to Howard High School about hosting an event that would educate students on responsible finances.
The event featured Gooding, a talented musician who not only entertained the students with his music but also shared valuable insights on financial responsibility. Gooding emphasized the importance of budgeting and managing finances, highlighting his own journey from a rock star to a business owner.
Following the performance, Gooding engaged with the students, answering their questions and providing valuable advice. His group tours nationally and has contributed music to popular TV shows and movies, making him a well-respected figure in the music industry.
In a separate event, Newark Charter School secured its third consecutive state championship in the Delaware High School Personal Finance Challenge. Sponsored by Bank of America and hosted by CEEE, the competition tested students’ financial knowledge and skills, showcasing their understanding of topics like taxes, financial regulation, and insurance.
The competition, which featured teams from eight schools, provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned through CEEE’s Keys to Financial Success curriculum. Newark Charter emerged victorious, with Appoquinimink putting up a strong fight in the final round.
In addition to these events, CEEE has been actively involved in providing training and resources for Delaware teachers, including the Foundations of Financial Literacy training and upcoming programs like the Meaningful Economic Competition and Economics Summer Camp. The dedication of CEEE staff to supporting teachers and students in financial education is evident in their commitment to these initiatives.
Overall, CEEE’s efforts in promoting financial literacy and economic education are making a significant impact on Delaware schools, empowering students with essential knowledge and skills for their future financial success.
