Miriam Vogel on overcoming fear of AI and promoting AI literacy for all

Miriam Vogel, president and CEO of EqualAI, is on a mission to dispel the fears surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) and ensure that the technology benefits a wide and diverse population. Despite the enthusiasm among investors and tech firms, Vogel believes that the majority of people are still afraid to use AI, which could result in the technology only benefiting a small group of individuals.

Vogel, who previously served in the Obama administration and now chairs the National AI Advisory Committee, founded EqualAI with the goal of promoting responsible and inclusive development of AI. She emphasizes the importance of AI literacy programs to help more people engage with the technology and understand its benefits.

While fears of being replaced by AI or left behind are valid, Vogel remains optimistic about the future of AI. She believes that by ensuring more communities participate in and benefit from AI, the technology will ultimately improve and benefit society as a whole.
