“Freeport-McMoRan and Education Forward Arizona Launch Guarantee Your Future Program for Students”

Freeport-McMoRan and Education Forward Arizona have joined forces to launch a new initiative aimed at providing students with valuable career opportunities. The program, called Guarantee Your Future with Freeport, will offer 25 students the chance to gain education, training, and experience through a paid-summer internship and mentoring at Freeport-McMoRan.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity for job placement in one of six technical fields, including diesel technician, industrial electrician, process control/instrumentation technology, fixed plant maintenance/advanced manufacturing, heavy equipment operations, and welder.

Tracy Bame, president of the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, expressed the company’s commitment to addressing the ongoing workforce shortage and finding innovative solutions. Education Forward Arizona, a statewide advocacy group dedicated to improving Arizona’s economy through education, is proud to partner with Freeport-McMoRan on this initiative.

Participants who successfully complete the program and meet employment eligibility requirements will be offered a full-time job at one of Freeport-McMoRan’s mining operations in Arizona, Colorado, or New Mexico, with a commitment to work for the company for three years.

The program will begin in August with classes offered at various Arizona community colleges. Applications are due on June 21, and individuals above the age of 18 at the time of employment with Freeport-McMoRan are eligible to apply. The program will also cover education expenses such as tuition, fees, and books.
