Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) Reshapes Human Resources Department with Rehirings and Promotions

Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) is making waves in its human resources department as it reshapes its workforce following a recent aggressive layoff policy. The electric automotive and sustainable energy company has reportedly started rehiring some of the employees it had let go, including senior executives like Bonne Eggleston.

Eggleston, who was previously the Director of Cell Manufacturing at Tesla, has now been promoted to the Senior Director of Tesla 4680, the company’s innovative battery cell division. The 4680 form factor cell was first unveiled at Battery Day 2020 with the goal of revolutionizing electric vehicle battery technology.

With the departure of Drew Baglino, Eggleston now has the opportunity to lead the 4680 cell division and focus on scaling production and reducing costs. Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, highlighted the company’s goals for 4680 cell production during a recent earnings call, emphasizing the rapid cost reductions and production volume increases.

In addition to the changes in the battery division, Tesla has also started rehiring staff for its Supercharger Network team after a mass layoff. Rebecca Tinucci, the global head of the Supercharger team, has reportedly been reinstated to her position. However, Tinucci has not updated her LinkedIn profile to reflect her return to the company, despite reports from Bloomberg.

The rehirings come after Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced a $500 million investment in expanding the Supercharger Network this year. Musk’s commitment to expanding the infrastructure comes after previous comments about a slow expansion, indicating a shift in strategy for the company.

While the rehirings may be seen as positive news for the affected employees, the unexpected layoffs and subsequent rehirings could leave a negative impression on Tesla as a company. The actions of Musk as CEO with regards to employee job security and career development will be closely watched by industry observers.

As Tesla continues to evolve and make changes within its workforce, the company’s mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy remains at the forefront. Stay tuned for more updates on Tesla’s developments and follow us for the latest news.
