Soldier’s $20,000 Life insurance Policy Donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Matthew “Logan” Plummer, a 21-year-old Army National Guard member from Bald Knob, Arkansas, left behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness that continues to inspire those who knew him. Tragically, Plummer passed away on March 28, leaving behind a $20,000 military Life insurance policy that he designated to be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

Plummer’s mother, Kristina Swinney, described him as having a “heart of gold” and always being willing to help others. Despite his young age, Plummer had a strong sense of duty and service, joining the military at 18 and becoming a combat engineer at Harrisburg. His military recruiter, Madison Burke, praised him for his selflessness and genuine desire to serve others, stating that Plummer was truly one of a kind.

Plummer’s decision to donate his Life insurance policy to St. Jude’s came as a surprise to his family, who were touched by his generosity and compassion. His father, Kenneth Charles “K.C.” Plummer, recalled how Logan always went out of his way to help others, whether it was cleaning floors at a local restaurant or leaving generous tips for the staff.

Despite facing challenges such as being diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome at a young age, Plummer never let it hold him back. He was known for his positive outlook on life and his willingness to go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those around him. His stepmother, Liz Plummer, remembered him as having a quirky and funny personality, always looking at things from a different angle.

Plummer’s impact extended beyond his military service, as he was also an active member of his community and school. Pangburn School District Superintendent David Rolland and Band and Choir Director Bill Mitchell both spoke highly of Plummer’s character, describing him as a kind and hardworking individual who always put others before himself.

In honor of Plummer’s memory, his military friends have nominated him for a 9/11 military run and a local restaurant has dedicated a special day in his honor. His family and friends continue to remember him fondly for his selfless acts of kindness and unwavering dedication to helping others.

As the news of Plummer’s donation to St. Jude’s spreads, it serves as a reminder of the impact that one person can have on the world through acts of kindness and generosity. Plummer’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the example he set for others to follow.
